The salmon are still thick in the creeks, a very good return this year it seems.

Metolius River Camping
We took the first camping trip of the year to the Metolius River in central Oregon.
Water was really gushing and wildflowers were at their peak. Birding was outstanding!

Quaking Aspen as well as Larch and Cottonwood were golden

Oregon Master Naturalist Training

A Natural History gave a great presentation followed
by a field trip to the beach yesterday.
The topic was the dunes and sandy beaches.

Barred Owl
A Barred Owl showed up at dusk last night, we were
able to call it down with a recording. This owl in the
photo was in the neighborhood several years ago.
